How do you get better at deadlifting?
I have received many advices. From the Sotochovich 5-3-1 truncated hypermaxx paradigm to reading about the Greek sophists while sitting in Mount Athos high on Kykeon while receiving a vision about the perfect Form. My advisors promised eternal progress, 1RM beyond my dreams, and countless anecdotes to back them up.
What really worked was just doing more deadlifts.
I have no doubt that Sotochovich was the Olympian of the SSR where he came from. And Mount Athos will give me insight about the perfect form whilst I contemplate how the ancient monks lifted the rocks tirelessly to reach the perfect unity of body and soul. But just doing more what I liked and wanted to be better at is often a kinder guide. A guide that doesn't encourage self-destructive behaviour and the downward spiral that often accompanies whatever-maxxing.
I also would like to get better at thinking.
So I don't use AI before 2 PM.
